| bandwidth | capacity | |
|---|---|---|
I don’t have the bandwidth. | The team is at capacity. |
on my plate 指手上已經有的工作,plate 前面固定用 on,說 I have three deadlines on my plate this week。
| I don’t have the bandwidth to take this on right now. |
| I’ve got a lot on my plate this week. | |
| My team is at capacity through Friday. | |
| Can I walk you through what’s already on my plate? | |
| Here’s everything that’s due this week. |
trade-off 是取捨。
|---|---|---|---|
| I’m too busy. | 我太忙了 | Can you help me prioritize between these two? |
| I’ll try. | 我盡量 | If I take this on, the report moves to next week. |
| Maybe. | 再看看 | What’s the trade-off you’re okay with? |
| It’s a lot. | 這很多耶 | Which one do you want first?
extension 是延期,動詞搭配 ask for,說 ask for a two-day extension。
| Can we push the deadline back to Friday? | |
| I’d like to ask for a two-day extension. | |
| This report normally takes a 48-hour turnaround. | |
| Is there any flexibility on the due date? | |
| I’ll need two more days to get it right.
I can’t take on another project this month。
| I’m not able to take this on this month. | |
| I’m going to have to pass on this one. | |
| We’ll have to decline this request for now. |
| I’d have to push back on the timeline. | |
| Can we revisit this after the launch? |
| Realistically, I can get it to you by Friday. | |
| I can start on it Thursday at the earliest. | |
| I can give you a rough draft now and the full version next week. | |
| Let me confirm the timeline and get back to you today. | |
