A lawsuit alleges that women at Google make on average $2,000 less [than men as a result of discriminatory practices.
The former employees who brought the lawsuit against Google said that the company divides employees into different responsibility levels, but women are often pushed into lower-level job tracks and paid less than men with similar responsibilities despite having similar education and abilities.
Google has been running yearly pay equity analyses since 2012 to address pay equality. As a result of these investigations, the company has made salary adjustments for 2% of employees in 2019. Google also said the claims in this lawsuit are unfounded.
許多人在爭取的,是「equal pay for equal work」,也就是「同工同酬」。
