台灣國際熱氣球嘉年華吸引超過百萬遊客Taitung’s International Balloon Festival Attracts More Than 1 Million Visitors

The 2022 Taiwan International Balloon Festival that opened July 2 in the Luye Highlands in Taitung attracted a total of 1.23 million visitors before it closed in mid-August.  The festival is famous for its hot air balloons that come from abroad. 20 of them appeared in Taiwan for the first time, including two shaped like the Japanese cartoon characters Yakultman and Kumanon, and one from the United States in the form of Elvis Presley.

There were also some balloons from Taiwan, such as the mascots OhBear from the Tourism Bureau and Bravo from the Taipei City government.

This was the festival’s 12th year. This year’s event featured unique light shows displayed through the use of drones for the first time ever.
