Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of age-related dementia. Hundreds of thousands of people and their families have suffered from it. Experts do not currently have a way to treat it effectively. The good news is that a recent US study seems to have found a possible treatment against it.

After researching around 1,600 FDA-approved drugs and analyzing medical data from more than 7 million patients, scientists gave higher scores to sildenafil, famously known by its brand name Viagra.

The results of the research showed that Viagra improves people’s cognition and memory. Taking Viagra may cut users’ risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease than non-users by up to 69%.
