Due to the ongoing pandemic, Taiwan Pride, the nation’s annual LGBTQ pride parade, will be held online this year for the first time in its 19-year history. TWRCAA, the organizer of the annual event since 2012, announced the theme as “I (LOVE) BEING OUT!!,” designed to reflect Taiwan’s new reality after legalizing same-sex marriage.
There will be an interactive website, which offers immersive web experience in lieu of the in-person event, so attendees can still come out and celebrate together virtually. Performances by celebrities will still be featured. The concert will be live-streamed on YouTube.
With over 200,000 people attending in 2019 and over 130,000 in 2020 despite COVID, Taiwan Pride event has been one of Asia’s biggest pride parades.
Do you want to come out and go on a picnic with us?
The singer came out as lesbian, and all her fans are happy for her.
