Taiwanese Badminton duo Lee Yang and Wang Chi-lin prevailed over a Chinese pair in the men’s doubles at the Tokyo Games, wining Taiwan’s first Olympic gold medal in the sport.
They almost lost hope in the beginning of the games when they lost their opening match. But later they managed to turn the tide, and won every game in a row, making their way to the final victory.
In fact, Lee and Wang only began playing together in 2019, when Wang’s doubles partner at the time retired and Lee had to leave his behind. It was a gamble, but it paid off.
