[Taipei, October 30, 2026] Steve Mineo, Senior Vice President for Admission at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), will visit Taiwan on Monday, November 16 to lead a free SCAD info session hosted by TutorABC Study Abroad. SCAD offers more than 100 degree programs across over 40 majors, including animation, game design, fashion, interactive design and architecture. As AI reshapes brand visuals, film and game production, students applying to art and design programs now need to choose not only the right school, but the right direction.
TutorABC Study Abroad today announced that it will host “SCAD Info Session | When Art Meets AI and Business: The Next Step for Creative Talent” at 7:30 p.m. on November 16 at the TutorABC Taipei Guting office. The session will be delivered in person by Steve Mineo. Admission is free, and study abroad application advice will be available on site.

Students preparing to apply to art, design and creative programs most often get stuck at three points:
Too many majors in a fast-changing industry make it hard to commit to a direction:
Art and design schools typically offer dozens of majors. With AI entering design and film production, students and parents worry whether today’s choice of major will still lead to a job four years from now. Choosing by ranking or interest alone can leave students discovering after enrolment that their courses do not match their career goals.
Students without an art background struggle to find the right entry point:
Students from business or information technology backgrounds are often unsure whether to apply for undergraduate study, graduate school or transfer, and how to present their past experience in their application. Without a convincing link between backgrounds, reviewers see only an unrelated résumé.
Documents, test scores and interviews compete for the same limited time:
Personal statements, recommendation letters, TOEFL or IELTS scores and interviews all have to move forward together while students juggle school or work. Falling behind on any one of them pushes the whole application timeline back.

TutorABC Study Abroad holds dual international accreditation at both the organization and adviser level. The team has earned ICEF IAS (ICEF Agency Status), often called the Michelin star of study abroad agencies, and 100% of its advisers are British Council Certified Counsellors, with a track record of a 96% admission rate to top 100 universities. For art, design and cross-disciplinary applications, it offers three forms of support:
Aptitude testing and placement analysis to match students with 700+ partner institutions:
Advisers use a proprietary aptitude test and placement analysis to understand each student’s strengths and goals, then compare program curricula with the industries the student hopes to enter, shortlisting suitable programs from more than 700 partner institutions.
An Essay Editor team from leading universities turns cross-disciplinary backgrounds into strengths:
The team of international editors, with degrees from Columbia University, the University of Cambridge and the University of California, works with each student to surface their strengths and refines documents to each program’s requirements. Students from business or IT backgrounds can present their experience as a genuine reason to pursue a creative degree.
Free one-on-one IELTS and TOEFL lessons and mock interviews keep test prep and applications in step:
Applicants can take free one-on-one IELTS and TOEFL lessons with foreign teachers and practise interviews with them, so language scores and application documents progress together without shuttling between an agency and a cram school.

Steve Mineo comes from a background in business and finance and has worked at Warner Music Group and an international accounting firm. The session will introduce SCAD’s programs and learning environment, examine industry trends where art, AI and business meet, share alumni career stories, and explain application routes for undergraduate study, graduate school and transfer. Students without an art background will also learn how graduate study can open a path into the creative industries.
Ally Lee, Head of TutorABC Study Abroad, said: “Over the past few years, the question we hear most from students interested in art and design is not which school ranks highest, but whether studying design still has a future now that AI is here. Hearing directly from SCAD’s admissions senior vice president about how the school brings together creativity, technology and business helps students decide. Our advisers then guide them step by step through application documents, language scores and visas.”
